This time line is based on a standard wedding, starting at 5:00 p.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. The times listed are approximate – each wedding will differ slightly.
4:00 p.m. – The DJ and Emcee arrive at the venue and begin setup, sound check, and event information review.
5:00 p.m. – The DJ begins cocktail music and guests begin arriving. The Emcee greets the bride and groom upon their arrival. Bride, groom, bridal party, and family members take pictures.
6:00 p.m. – The emcee begins the grand announcement of the bridal party, followed by the grand announcement of the Bride and Groom and their first dance. The bridal party then joins the bride and groom dancing (may vary). Bridal party dance is completed and the bridal party, bride and groom are escorted to the head table.
6:15 p.m. – The emcee introduces the blessing, then the toast (by the best man), and then explains the eating arrangements and gives away the centerpieces (if requested). Emcee then announces that requests are welcome and wishes everyone a good meal
6:25 p.m. – Dinner begins and the DJ programs “enjoyable listening music”.
7:25 p.m. – The emcee checks with the bride and groom to ensure they are happy with everything and schedules the festivities (cake, garter bouquet, parent dances) with the Maitre D’. The emcee then notifies the photographer and videographer of the festivities timing.
7:30 p.m. – The emcee announces the end of dinner music (time may vary). Dance music begins and the DJ and Emcee interact with guests and play a variety of music for the guests’ enjoyment.
8:10 p.m. – The emcee reminds the bride and groom that festivities will begin within ten minutes and checks to ensure they are enjoying themselves. The emcee then reminds the photographer and videographer that the festivities will begin shortly.
8:40 p.m. – Festivities begin including the cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter removal, garter toss, the bride/father dance, the groom/mother dance and any other special requests from the bride and groom. The emcee then introduces the desert or sweet table (may vary).
9:00 p.m. – The emcee checks with the bride and groom to ensure they are happy and to find out if they have any last requests for the last twenty minutes.
9:57 p.m. – The DJ begins the final song, while the emcee gets around of applause for the bride’s family, then for the groom’s family and finally for the new husband and wife. The emcee congratulates the newlyweds and wishes everyone a safe trip home.
10:00 p.m. – Music ends.
